Sultan Hassan

Looking out from the Citadel, the view of the city is amazing. Sultan Hassan's madrasa just below, is a favourite of mine, with Rifa'yi mosque next door.

Clock-tower

I think all have heard the unfortunate story of the giftexchange between the Egyptian king Muhammad Ali and French Louis-Philippe - who sent a clock in exchange for an obelisk. The obelisk dorns Place de la Concorde in Paris, while the clock, in the courtyard of the Muhammad Ali mosque has never worked.
